KID Family Support Counselors are the front line for all clients coming to KID for care and support and are accessible to our clients 24/7. Each Family Support Counselor will meet with new clients being added to their case load at either our site location or within the client’s home to conduct an initial assessment and to create a case treatment/family service plan. The ultimate goal of the Family Support Counselor is to provide active counseling to the children and/or family and to ensure that they are making the most of the assistance and services being offered to them. Through the process the Family Support Counselor will maintain daily documentation of client interactions/progress and will manage the discharge process once it is determined that the child/family is back on track.

Candidates for these positions will have Bachelor’s degree in Social Work with major course work in Psychology, Counseling, or have at least two years of experience in working with at-risk or dependent children and families and/or populations with special needs.
