Job Description

The Donor Relations Manager is responsible for identifying, developing, maintaining, and growing relationships with current and/or new donors, community partners, and civic organizations.  In addition, this position will act as a KID liaison for community events via communication and representation. Specific marketing efforts to promote the agency’s mission through public speaking, written presentations, and appeals required. This position also requires creativity in articulation and design of written presentations, grant proposals, stewardship reporting, and supportive coordination with the KID leadership team. Must uphold, improve, and promote the positive image of Kids In Distress and attend/support all KID Signature Events. Must possess excellent organizational, relational, and administrative skills and have the ability to motivate others. This position reports to the Director of Advancement.

Skills / Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Fundraising, Non-Profit Management, Public Relations or related field preferred with a minimum of five (5) years of experience in a non-profit development environment; or equivalent combination of education, training, and work experience. Superb written and verbal communication skills essential. Must be knowledgeable of all aspects of donor relations, including donor cultivation, moves management, grant writing, written and verbal presentations, and stewardship of gifts. Experience and success in relationship building and achieving fundraising goals. Raiser’s Edge and other Blackbaud product knowledge is preferred.
