Job Description

This position is responsible for efficient management of the telephone communication system by accurately answering, responding, forwarding, recording and distributing messages and faxes within the Agency. The Receptionist must present a professional, personal, caring and supporting public image on behalf of the Agency. The Receptionist will also greet and receive visitors, receive and/or direct donations as required, and otherwise provide appropriate assistance to any individual who enters the KID campus. This is an on-call position, as needed. 

Skills / Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent and at least two (2) years of professional office experience required; or an equivalent combination of education, training and work experience. Excellent telephone skills and pleasant speaking voice. Must be computer literate in Microsoft Word and proficient in multi-line switchboard operation. The receptionist should have a professional appearance; an even temperament and good communication (listening/talking) skills; excellent organization and multi-tasking skills; be proactive; and interact professionally with both co-workers and members of the public (clients and donors.) Individual must be able to sit for prolonged periods and be comfortable working alone, as well as with other team members. The ideal candidate will be a quick learner with a warm smile and have the ability to solve problems and make quick decisions. Patience, professionalism, punctuality, reliability, a good speaking voice and excellent customer service skills are required. Must be reliable and available at short notice, therefore local candidates preferred.
